• Hudson Valley Adoption Services is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian, licensed and NYS approved adoption agency based in Kingston, New York.  Founded in 2010, we serve people creating new family relationships through adoption, providing all legal and social services every step of the way.

•  If you are hoping to adopt, and you live in New York, our adoption services include Adoption Homestudies and specialized adoptive parent training for domestic and international adoption.

• Through birth parent choice HVAS child adoption services, places newborn or very young children throughout the United States into the loving homes of the adoptive parents.
  

• The wait time for placement through HVAS is approximately 6 - 18 months from approved home study.

• The most important first step is completing the home study process so that your family will be eligible to consider adoption opportunities when they arise from whatever source.
  

• HVAS's policies and screening practices are inclusive. There are few set requirements regarding age, marital, or financial status for the prospective adoptive parents. Each of our adoptive parent families is considered on an individual basis. 

•  For adoptive families interstate throughout the USA, HVAS adoption services include newborn adoption placements of American-born children.

Our skilled and dedicated staff includes licensed mental health counselors and attorneys to guide you through each part of the adoption process, including the interstate compact and legal finalization of the adoption.

Although we are a new agency and not yet Hague accredited, we will consult and partner with Hague accredited agencies to find answers to your questions and help you to navigate international adoptions between Hague Treaty countries.

We also look forward to accomplishing identified relative international adoptions where the child and the adoptive family reside in different countries.

• Adoptive parents come into the child's life at a very young age, often newborn.

• Birth parents have access to good prenatal care, and adoptive parents and adoptees have access to prenatal and postnatal medical records.

• Adoptive parents have access to detailed birth and delivery information as well as medical and social background history.
  

• Adoptive parents have the opportunity to participate in the birth of the child.
